Moles can be found on the surface of the skin, like a small pigmented bump or dot. Moles are considered to be "beauty marks" especially if located on the face. Celebrities like Marylin Monroe, Cindy Crawford were considered to be very sexy because of their mole just above the lip. Many women started to tattoo or draw with a pencil a mole above their lip just so they could look as sexy as Marylin or Cindy. Skin moles can be genetic. You might find a mole exactly in a place where one of your ancestors had, but some moles can appear due to sunlight exposure (the sun amplifies the melanin production which causes moles to appear). |
